Art Retreat at Algarve Villa in Portugal

Spend a few unforgettable days painting, learning and enjoying life in the heart of the Algarve, surrounded by rolling hills, olive trees and the unique light of southern Portugal.

In addition to our painting sessions, where I will guide you through sketching watercolor techniques and plein-air painting, we have included special cultural and nature experiences, we will explore charming villages and dramatic Atlantic coastlines.

This is a time to relax, slow down, create and laugh.

At Figs on the Funcho, our home for the art retreat, you’ll start each morning surrounded by peaceful countryside, wander through the gardens, rest in cozy rooms or enjoy quiet moments with a sketchbook in hand.

Evenings are spent together on the terrace, with warm light, open skies and a relaxed atmosphere.

Suitable for all levels of painting experience. Non-painting partners are warmly invited to join this journey.

What’s included:

• Art sessions: watercolor travel sketching, 3 days, fully guided by Yana Ivannikova.

• 4 nights in a charming villa or in Eco-Friendly Glamping (eco-friendly safari tents), duration can be extended.

• Full board with fresh, local ingredients, vegetarian cuisine (fish is possible).

• Group Transfers airport-villa-airport (Faro, 45 mins). Transfers to painting locations we will agree additionally.

• Explore the stunning cliffs and beaches, local villages of the region.

Day 1 (1 October), Thursday – Arriving Day, Relax Day

• Relaxing 

• Evening: informal welcome, dinner, getting to know each other or Meeting Sunset at the coast.

Day 2 (2 October), Friday – Plein Air Day. Coast & Cliff Chapel.  Painting focus: composition, scale, textures.
