Watercolor Fundamental Course 


This watercolor course is designed as a comprehensive learning for anyone eager to explore or deepen their skills in watercolor painting. 

You will Learn:


  • Essential watercolor techniques (wet-on-wet, charging, layering, dry brush, etc.)

  • Color theory: how to mix clean colors and avoid “mud”

  • Light and shadow: for realistic depth and volume

  • Composition and planning: no more messy, confusing sketches

  • Perspective: both linear and atmospheric

  • Practice: Italian landscape

Color Theory in Practice

  • Warm vs cool, complementary colors

  • Harmonies and dirty colors: how to avoid them

  • Practice: Flowers

Volume & 3D Effect – Shadows, Tones, Values

  • Light direction, form and shadow types

  • Value scale and contrast

  • Practice: Object studies (fruit, vegetables)

Vocabulary of Techniques – Part 2

  • Textures in watercolor

  • Edges: hard vs soft

  • Practice: Landscape using multiple techniques

Still Life with berries/fruit

  • Planning light & color zones

  • Detailing and contrast

  • Practice: Painting still life

Composition & Simplification

  • Focal points, visual paths

  • Simplification and adjusting references

  • Practice: Landscape from photo 

Aerial Perspective

  • Depth through color and tone

  • Practice: Mountainscape

Linear Perspective

  • Vanishing points, angles and cityscape structure

  • Practice: City scene or rural buildings

Final Project & Personal Painting

  • Choice of subject with guidance

  • Independent sketch, composition, execution

  • Group feedback and critique
